Bought a couple of these to use as mandatory calories.. then I ate one and wow I now have to order some more.. I had one as a bar and made a porridge with the other both excellent taste and consistency and all the carbs and energy you need out of a bar that size.. highly recommended
Nice and easy to eat, i used it on a long mountain bike ride, better to stop and eat it rather than on the go.
I found Phoenix Bars to be a really easy way to make sure I was consuming enough calories during the Spine Race - particularly later on in the race when I didn't want to eat sweet foods. Great product!
I used Phoenix Bars during the TransAlba and they were brilliant, easily palatable and doesn't sit heavy on your stomach. Not too sweet either which is a great change from most of the stuff you eat during these events! I will definitely be using them as part of my endurance race setup moving forward.
My fuelling went well with the Phoenix Bars — they were my main source of solid food for the Spine Sprint. I just broke a bit off in small amounts continuously, right until the end. A welcome change from all the sweeter alternatives and gels.
I also used a full bar as my main fuel source on a Yorkshire 3 Peaks recce the weekend before. It breaks down almost melting in the mouth and got me through 35km of hills with no problem.
