Coeliac-friendly Nutrition

I bought Phoenix Bars to train with ahead of the Uzbekistan ultra with Global Limits, but I also enjoy them day-to-day and have been testing them out when my husband and I are out hiking in the Swiss mountains.

As I am a coeliac, it’s marvellous that the bars are gluten-free, but I also appreciate the nutrition element too. They are dense, easy to eat, convenient, and packed full of energy - as well as being tasty too!

Taking them on the MDS

I tried out Phoenix Bars over the two days of the Pilgrim's Challenge and will definitely take some with me to MDS. They're handy on the go and the taste is pretty good.

Tested on the Pilgrim's

I ate one Phoenix Bar on a long training run and another on the Pilgrim's multi-day ultra. I liked the taste and it has an unusual flavour (like vanilla?) but it was not really sweet which is great and it didn't all get stuck in my mouth. I liked the fact they helped me get lots of calories without putting too much in my stomach.

Used on the Pilgrim's Challenge

The bars were a great source of energy. I will be highly recommending them to other runners.

Great amount of protein/carbs/calories

Overall - 8/10, nice taste, did the job I needed it to, and a great amount of protein/carbs/calories to replenish what I needed. It would definitely be my go to snack at the end of my next Ultra, or maybe mid-way through if it was a longer one!
