Tried these after seeing them pop up on my feed. Really great bar that tastes good and provides energy for a long time, I’d definitely recommend giving them a go. Cracking customer service as well. Thanks
I was initially a bit skeptical, but I took a few of the Phoenix Bars ski touring last month and was pleasantly surprised. They're quite crumbly, but not as dry as expected and weren't an issue to eat, even in quite hostile conditions. I'd buy these again!
I used Phoenix Bars on the 2025 Marathon Des Sables and these flapjacks were a godsend - good value, high calories to grams, tasty and easy to consume. I used them for my breakfast every day, I could quickly scoff them down to get by calories on board without having to faff about re-hydrating a meal from expedition foods etc. I’ll recommend them to anyone doing the MDS in the future!
I ate Phoenix Bars immediately post-marathon to keep me from crashing out, and at another the following to refill my glycogen. Thought they were brilliant at fuelling me - definitely helped to prolong the time before the inevitable crash last night. Easily eaten and digested and was perfect as a recovery fuel. Would have been interested to see how they helped my carb loading pre-race but hasn’t practiced with them and didn’t want to try anything new before the day. Love the fact that they’re pretty big as well - there’s a sort of mental factor there that your brain feels like you’ve refuelled well, regardless of what the calories might be (compared to some bars which can be finished in 2 bites).
I took Phoenix Bars on the MDS and I thought they were really good. They didn't melt in the heat and I am keen to use them again on my next ultra-endurance challenges.
