I found phoenix bars to be really compact and easy to digest - a perfect source of lots of calories before long runs without leaving me feeling bloated.
I ordered some Phoenix Bars to try because of how calorie-dense they are for an upcoming ski touring holiday. We have munched through the flapjacks. Trying with milk, with water & eating on their own.
We really liked them. The flavours are all quite mild, which was a positive in our opinion. Not too dense, easy to eat & to digest. No criticisms come to mind.
We just re-ordered more for our trip and Phoenix Bars will be our go to in the future.
I used my last Phoenix Bar on the Machen Trail Marathon recently and it was pretty much perfect. I felt great throughout. I’m not much of a breakfast person but you need carbs to get through these tough races. I initially find the bars challenging to digest so I have to eat one at least 2 hours before, but once it settles it works a treat. Best option for me is soaking in milk and drinking it. I've just ordered the new flavours and I am excited to try them.
